Chapter of the Embroiderers'
Association of Canada

The guild hosts or participates in a variety of public events that are aimed at promoting the art of embroidery and showcasing the needlework produced by our members. Public events involving the guild this season:

Library Book Sale - April 26, 2018, Centre Noel Legault

Attention, bargain hunters: Our library shelves are full and we need to make space for the newer additions to our collection. We're holding a book sale on Thursday, April 26. The sale is open to the public from 2 - 3 pm. You just might find that out-of-print needlework book you've been looking for and at a bargain price!

Exhibition 2017 - September 16-17, 2017, Stewart Hall

The 2017 edition of our guild exhibition was a rousing success with over 245 pieces on display viewed by more than 260 visitors. Thanks to all the members who contributed their works and helped with the planning and organizing of the show and thanks to all of our families, friends and embroidery fans who supported our efforts by visiting and voting.

 Sunday Stitchers Rendez-Vous

We participate in the city of Pointe Claire's Cultural Rendez-Vous program at Stewart Hall (176 Lakeshore Road). Guild members will be on hand to stitch and demonstrate needlework to visitors from 2 - 5 pm on a Sunday once a month. Check our Program Schedule for precise dates this 2017-18 season.

National Stitch in Public Day  ♦  September 24, 2017                EAC Stitch in Public

The Embroiderers' Association of Canada has designated each September 24 as National Stitch in Public Day. We're marking that day by participating in a weekend event by Arts Alive! taking place at St John Fisher Junior High in Pointe-Claire, with needlework displays, demos and a beginner's embroidery workshop.  Drop by Saturday, September 23 or Sunday, September 24.

Arts Alive!Quebec is an off-shoot of ELAN Quebec, the English-Language Arts Network, a not-for-profit organization that supports and promotes English-speaking artists and arts communities. To learn more, visit Arts Alive! Quebec

City of Pointe Claire Culture Day  ♦  October 1, 2017

We will re-run our popular embroidery workshops for children on Sunday, October 1, at Stewart Hall.

Salon des artisans  ♦  November 25 - 26, 2017

The guild will once again take part in Pointe-Claire's annual craft fair at Stewart Hall, offering a variety of needlework crafts handmade by guild members, including ornaments, stitched greeting cards and seasonal gift items. This annual event is an important fundraiser for the guild, helping to support our program and activities.
