Chapter of the Embroiderers'
Association of Canada

Thursday Program

Join the guild and develop your embroidery skills or learn new ones by taking advantage of the guild's classes.

We run weekly classes on Thursday mornings and afternoons from September to May. We are fortunate to count among our members a number of talented and experienced instructors who share their knowledge and know-how.

Whether you are a novice or experienced stitcher or, like most of us, somewhere in between, you are sure to find something in our program that will interest you. We cover a broad range of techniques — you might find a class in crewel or canvaswork, blackwork or goldwork, hardanger, schwalm or Brazilian, pulled or drawn thread, etc.

Another learning experience available at the guild is the Special Interest Group designed for members with a shared interest in a specific needlework technique. SIGs meet one Thursday morning or afternoon a month.

The guild also occasionally runs EAC project courses offered by the Embroiderers' Association of Canada. Guild members with similar embroidery interests form a group to follow one of the many and diverse courses on offer from EAC, stitching together and helping one another learn.

In addition, once or twice a year, the guild offers classes with embroidery experts at the national or international level. These classes are a wonderful opportunity for members to watch and learn from a master needleworker.

For more information on classes at the guild, see General Class Information.
